A Free House offering a wide range of drinks

We welcome one and all to a little gem of English hospitality. Couples, friends, families, dogs, diners, and travellers on business – leave your worries at the door and join us to relax, dine, celebrate special occasions, laugh, joke, have fun or settle to a quiet pint and chat to our drinkers and locals and put the world to rights.

We are open from lazy summer afternoons watching the world go by to being tucked up beside our roaring wood burners as the winter rain drizzles down the restored 17th-century windows.

We’re a pub – you would expect us to offer a wide range of drinks for all occasions. And we do … but we go far beyond that.

With the flexibility of being a Free House, we offer a wide range of drinks with a focus on high quality.

The New Harp Inn – The Bar

Cider, perry, beer and real ale

Many are locally sourced from artisan suppliers, especially our ciders and perry, most notably Westons, Wood Redding and Carey Organic. Our real ales are from Wye Valley Brewery and we always have Wye Valley Bitter on Hand Pull. We carry Hell ABV, a light, bright and very satisfying beer, perfect Guinness, light and refreshing Pravha and succulent and citric Sharps Atlantic.

Lager

We regularly feature guest beers and one of our favourites is Otter Bright. So why not relax at The Harp in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Beauty, leave your worries at the door and join us to watch the real otters of Hoarwithy as you sip an Otter.

Wine

Our wine list has been hand chosen by us. There is nothing on there that we do not enjoy drinking and both our ruby red and whimsical white house wines are highly palatable on their own. Our wine list has been selected to complement our menu from fresh fish to other foods with Asian, Caribbean and Mediterranean influences.

Spirits

We carry a premium and budget variety of all spirits and have an impressively wide and bespoke gin menu of 15-20 varieties.

Locals and the Thursday Club

Naturally we accommodate our locals who unwind at the end of a long day with a pint and a chat, whatever the weather. Everybody is welcome to the Thursday Club.

Low alcohol

We carry a good range of low alcohol cider, fruit cider and craft beers.

Non-alcoholic drinks

Designated drivers, children and those who prefer a non-alcoholic drink are offered a wide range of hot and cold choices, from local juices to freshly prepared coffee and gorgeous ginger beer to make the taste buds tingle.

Drinkers are always welcome at our comfy, heart of the community pub.
