Couples, friends, families, dogs, diners, and travellers on business – leave your worries at the door and join us to relax, dine, celebrate special occasions, laugh, joke, have fun or settle to a quiet pint and chat to our drinkers and locals and put the world to rights. Whether you are in Herefordshire for a long stay, overnight or a day trip we look forward to welcoming you to enjoy our relaxing gardens, indoor woodburning stoves or just pop in to people watch over a lazy drink.

Our rustic pub and large beer garden set in the picturesque rolling Herefordshire countryside. Alongside the babbling brook overlooking the river Wye is a perfect setting to relax and sample the delicious food and drink of the county. Renowned for the Cider Trail and locally grown, good quality food, we offer a taste of Herefordshire.

Whether walking the Wye Valley, taking canoes down the river Wye or camping nearby we are an excellent stop to refresh, refuel and reward yourselves. Bike racks are available.

“Had the gluten-free fish and chips and can’t express how delicious it was! The plates are full (couldn’t even finish it off) but the chips were delightful and the fish was amazing! So want to thank Adrian the head chef for such good quality food. Definitely will be coming again :’)”

All our ingredients come from local suppliers whom we know well. All our suppliers are friends and at one time or another we have inspected their premises. We know the quality, cleanliness and produce of every supplier. We feel that this is as important to you as it is to us. We love championing local suppliers as we truly believe it brings out the best in all of us.

Community hub pub

The Harp is supported by Pub in the Hub. We host the village shop, post office and defibrillator. We look after our regulars and look forward to welcoming more of you back, especially now after our major refurbishment. The New Harp Inn really is your local in Hoarwithy.

Hygienic and high tech facilities

We are proud of our hygiene certification, our top of the range kitchen and our ground-floor access lavatories equipped with the latest in hands-free taps and dryers for an easy and hygienic visit. Our baby change is spotless and private.

Places to Stay

Several of our friends own accommodation within Hoarwithy and neighbouring villages, and these are just a few of our favourites; the most romantic for couples, just a short walk away a mile upstream of our babbling brook, is Wrigglesbrook Gypsy Caravans run by Sarah, Justin and Fred (Chocolate Labrador), the riverside Tresseck Campsite for tents and campervans is immediately behind The Harp, and if you’re looking for luxury camping Woodland Farm Tipis and Yurts is ¾ mile up the road.

If you prefer B&B and self-catering, The Old Mill with its large gardens is just across the road while Ruxton Farm Bed & Breakfast and Holiday cottages is in the hamlet of Ruxton just across the river over Hoarwithy Bridge.

We happily recommend all of these great places to stay and look forward to welcoming you to our rustic, charming pub situated in the heart of the countryside in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to enjoy good quality food, beers, ciders, real ales and wines.

Dog friendly

We love to welcome all well-behaved dogs (on leads) and water bowls are always provided. We have our own resident dog called Jake, who is often joined by his friends, Alfie and Digby (Show Cocker Spaniels), Gus (German Pointer), Zeus and Zeno (Jack Russell Terriers), their best friends Fred (Chocolate Labrador) and Stan (Springer Spaniel). Dog biscuits are available from behind the bar and treats from the shop, including utterly mutterly ice cream.
